Between 2010 and 2018, I was a regular guest at various queer parties in Vienna. Soon it became clear to me that I had to bring my camera along to these events. For a long time I used my small but exquisite Lomo LC-A almost exclusively. Initially, taking photos was a trick to avoid just standing around at these parties on my own. After the first few rolls of film, it was evident that the random moments, the energy of the people, and the special characters of the parties were not only appealing to me. The scene appreciated the pictures, and soon I didn't have to worry about not knowing anyone and standing alone at the parties.
"Party Hard" is a one-of-a-kind photo book and a tribute to my "golden" times on Vienna's dance floors. The images represent the fun, colorful, and sometimes hazy memories I still have.
